Over the past two years, the outdoor industry has been threatened by increasing tariffs, threats to our public lands, inaction on climate change and more. Now we have the opportunity to turn the tide by electing leaders that will be supportive of our $887 billion outdoor recreation economy and the 7.6 million jobs it supports.
On November 6, Americans will vote in one of the most critical midterm elections in recent history. The results of that election will have considerable bearing on the outdoor recreation economy and the future success of outdoor businesses. Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) offers great tools to educate and motivate people to elect outdoorists to Congress and governorships across the country.
Outdoor Retailer Summer Market launched their Vote the Outdoors campaign. Resources include OIA’s first-ever Congressional Scorecard and their new Voters Guide, released today, with information on key races and ballot initiatives across the country. We are asking for your help to amplify this message on your brand and personal social media channels on October 15 – and continuing through Election Day on November 6. OIA has developed a full social media toolkit for you with messaging and graphics and can help you customize as needed. Your reach to your customers, friends and family is critical to this effort.
